Twende Koboko Initiative
A community outreach mission bringing sustainable practices and hope to Koboko district.
The Green Ambassadors Club was proud to partner with Rotaract clubs on the Twende Koboko initiative, a community service project that aimed to restore a forest in the Koboko region of Northern Uganda.
Deforestation and other human activities have had a significant impact on the environment — soil erosion, loss of biodiversity and climate change. The Twende Koboko initiative was an opportunity for Rotaract clubs and the Green Ambassadors Club to make a positive impact and to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
The project involved planting trees and restoring a forest that had been destroyed by human activity. By restoring the forest, the clubs involved were able to promote biodiversity, reduce soil erosion and help mitigate the effects of climate change.
The initiative was a great success, with hundreds of trees planted and a significant portion of the forest restored. It was also an opportunity for members of the Rotaract clubs and the Green Ambassadors Club to work together toward a common goal and learn more about environmental conservation.
Going forward, the Green Ambassadors Club will continue to partner with other organizations and communities to promote environmental sustainability and conservation in Uganda. We believe that by working together, we can make a difference and help create a more sustainable future for all.
