Ingredients

Herbs

  • Mint
  • Aloe vera
  • Papaya leaves
  • Rosemary leaves
  • Iodine leaves
  • Plectranthus
  • Mistyplume

Other

  • 380 ml water (with herbal extract; mint, aloe vera, …)
  • 400 ml vegetable oil
  • 400 ml coconut oil (or, alternatively, more vegetable oil)
  • 200 ml shea butter oil
  • 158 g caustic soda (sodium hydroxide)
  • 20 ml mint perfume (mint oil extract)

Instructions

  1. Stamp the herbal leaves, mix them with water, and sieve them to obtain 380 ml of water with herbal extract.
  2. Mix the caustic soda with the herbal water. Careful — it gets hot. Avoid breathing in the fumes.
  3. Mix the oils together.
  4. Combine the caustic-soda solution with the oil mix.
  5. Add the mint perfume.
  6. Spread the solution evenly into small "baking forms".
  7. Leave them for 24 hours, then remove them from the form.
  8. After 6 further days, they are ready.

That's it — enjoy your first self-made soap!
