Field Interventions in Zombo District: The AKS II Project
Practical soil-management demonstrations and climate literacy in Zombo, delivered with the Nebbi District NGO Forum.
Alongside the Nebbi District NGO Forum, Green Ambassadors Club field teams spent three weeks in Zombo delivering the second phase of the AKS II (Agro-Knowledge & Soils) project.
Activities on the ground
- Ten soil-testing demonstrations across four sub-counties.
- Compost, mulching and contour-bunding workshops with 220 farmers.
- Climate-literacy sessions in six primary schools reaching 1,400 pupils.
Early results
Participating farmers reported measurable improvements in maize and bean yields on demonstration plots. The project's soil-health baseline will feed into a district-wide climate adaptation plan the Forum is co-drafting with local government.
